Pre-season 15s rugby and Shannon 7s this Saturday

There is plenty of pre-season 15s club rugby on this weekend, plus the annual Shannon 7s tournament as the summer of rugby draws to a close.

Here is what Wellington’s 14 clubs have lined up for tomorrow (check individual Facebook pages and websites for more details such as kick-off times):

Hutt Old Boys Marist v Paremata-Plimmerton at Aotea College

Johnsonville v Paraparaumu (Horowhenua-Kapiti) at Paraparaumu Domain

Marist St Pat’s v Nelson Marist (Nelson Bays) at Nelson

Northern United – internal camp at Takapuwahia Marae

Old Boys University v Petone at North Park, Petone

Oriental-Rongotai – club day at the Polo Ground

Poneke – club day at Kilbirnie Park

Tawa v College Old Boys (Manawatu) at Palmerston North

Upper Hutt Rams v Feilding Yellows (Manawatu) at Feilding

Wainuiomata – club day at William Jones Park

Wellington Axemen v Napier Pirates (Hawke’s Bay) at Napier

The annual Shannon 7s tournament is being played all day at the Shannon Domain on Saturday.

The first game is scheduled to kick off at 9.30am, with about a dozen men’s and women’s teams entered including Stokes Valley from Wellington.
