Continuing the series in the men’s game, with some highlights from the back end of the Swindale Shield and the championship Jubilee Cup and Hardham Cup competition.
7. Tupou Sopoaga scores this 70 metre breakout try up the Petone Recreation grandstand touchline in their entertaining 58-22 win over the Wellington Axemen in early May:
8. Dane Coles made his much-anticipated comeback from injury at the end of the Swindale Shield round for Poneke. He played the first 40 minutes of a high quality match against Petone in their annual FJ Tilyard Shield fixture. Here he scores a try in his comeback game. Petone won 23-17.
9. Norths would go on and win the Jubilee Cup final. Here they beat Poneke 26-0 with the kick through by flyhalf Jackson Garden-Bachop and the backs pouring through on the follow through.
10. Junior Time Taotua scored a brace for Norths in their 22-10 Jubilee Cup third round win over Petone, including this stand-shaking strike. In his second season out of Porirua College, Time Taotua scored eight tries in 15 matches in 2019 for Norths.
11. Ories won the game 32-27, but Tawa score a Lyndhurst Park special in their mid-round Jubilee Cup encounter, Pepesana Patafilo with the initial bust and halfback Kem Hauiti-Parapara finishing it off.
12.In the battle of the minnows in the Hardham Cup, Paremata-Plimmerton beat Johnsonville 22-20 here their backline clicks and they run in a popular home town try on Ngati Toa.
