Matchday scoring highlights: Johnsonville (32) v Northern United (28)

The two clubs met for the Barlow Trophy in round two of the 2024 Swindale Shield.

Both were coming off narrow opening round losses so were eager to put their best foot forward.

So was the weather, and a nasty southerly struck just before the match kicked off, with light rain turning heavy for a time and the breeze picking up. Johnsonville had the elements at their backs in the first half and went to a 27-5 halftime lead.

Norths mounted a comeback through their forwards, but fell short and the final score was 32-28 to Johnsonville.

Colts

The two Colts teams from the clubs met in the 1.00pm curtain-raiser.

It was a similarly close match, with Norths winning this one, 25-22.
