Matchday Scoring Highlights: Wellington U20s (45) v Tasman U20s (29)

The two teams met to fine-tune their preparations for their upcoming regional competitions that start this coming Saturday.

Tasman play in the South Island U20s competitions and Wellington contest the Hurricanes region Central Region Shield, in which they have been champions since 2014.

Wellington got off to a good start and scored three converted tries to lead 21-0 in almost as many minutes. Tasman replied with an intercept try but both teams scored again and Wellington went into halftime leading 28-10.

This became 33-10 early in the second spell, but after a long period of even play and both teams emptying their benches, Tasman came rollicking back to trail 33-29 with about give minutes to play. Wellington held on, and scored twice more to pull clear.
