Swindale Shield Matchday Highlights Round Two: Tawa (26) v Pare-Plim (25)

Round Two of the 2026 Swindale Shield came to Lyndhurst Park where home team Tawa met Paremata-Plimmerton.

Coming off a hefty first round loss to Petone, it took Tawa just a few minutes to score their opening try of the year. Paremata-Plimmeerton responded and eventually both teams were deadlocked 12-12 just before halftime when the visitors kicked a penalty to lead 15-12.

The second half remained tense and very willing, with several chances going begging for both teams. Paremata-Plimmerton eventually put themselves in the lead when Louis Northcott crossed for his second try of the match.

Tawa came storming back into the lead by a point when replacement No. 8 George Risale scored his second try, before Paremata-Plimmerton missed a vital penalty near fulltime which would have won the game.

This result leaves both sides with a win and a loss each after two rounds, as Tawa prepared to meet Old Boys University away in round three and Paremata-Plimmerton turned to face Avalon in their first home fixture.
