Feilding 7s Blitz tournament on Saturday

Sevensvember continues on Saturday with the inaugural Rosebowl Blitz 7s tournament.

The Rosebowl Blitz 7s tournament tournament hosted by the Feilding Yellows club features 12 men’s teams in a one-day shootout at Johnston Park.

There are four Wellington teams, including three club sides ahead of the scheduled two-leg WRFU club sevens on 22 and 29 November, giving these teams and clubs a chance to tune up ahead of that series for the American Ambassador’s Cup.

The three club sides are Northern United, the Wellington Axemen and Paremata-Plimmerton, the latter who are not only gearing up for the WRFU 7s tournaments but for the defence of the National Club 7s on their home soil in early February 2026. Joining them are the Wellington Flyers.

The Hawke’s Bay Fijians and the Whanganui Fullsend (two teams) squads also make the trip to join six Manawatu teams and clubs.

These include two Feilding sides, the Whites and the Baa Baas, Ashhurst Pohangana RFC and BLK St Johns and Gau Kacau, both local Fijian teams.

There is also a three-team Colts tournament, featuring local side Filly323, Palmerston North College Old Boys and Wairarapa visitors Martinborough.

Play gets underway across two fields at 9.40am, building towards finals later in the afternoon.
