Matchday scoring highlights: Wellington College v St Pat’s Town

Wellington College defeated St Pat’s Town 43-10 in the first of the ‘traditionals’ this year between the Wellington boys schools.

This was also the opening match of the 2024 Wellington First XV Premiership.

The match was played in cold, breezy conditions from the south, which didn’t deter a large contingent of home supporters occupying the terraces and making their support felt.

Wellington College played into the wind in the first half and led 17-5 at halftime. St Pat’s Town opened the scoring with a chargedown try but the home side scored two tries and kicked a penalty to round out the first half.

With the elements in their favour, Wellington College soared home to win 6 tries to 2.
