Scoring highlights: Wellington U19s (50) v Hurricanes Heartland U20s (12)

The two teams met in the first round of the Hurricanes region Central Region Shield competition at NZCIS at Upper Hutt.

Defending champions the Wellington U19s won the match 50-12, after leading the Hurricanes Heartland U20s 31-7 at halftime.

The other opening round match of this competition saw Hawke’s Bay beat Manawatu 45-0.

In the second round this coming weekend the Wellington U19s host the Hawke’s Bay U19s at Rugby League Park, while Manawatu and the Hurricanes Heartland U20s play at Palmerston North.

This competition is in its 40th year and Wellington is gunning for its 21st title win in 2023.
