Tawa v Poneke Swindale Shield scoring highlights

Tawa put themselves on track to make this year’s Jubilee Cup in July by earning a bonus point 52-21 win over Poneke in their 11th round Swindale Shield fixture on Saturday.

Tawa opened the scoring through a penalty try early and then doubled their score to make it 14-0. They crossed twice more to lead 24-0 at halftime. Poneke came back with three converted tries in the second half but Tawa kept their noses ahead and two very late tries inflated their winning margin.

Tawa won the interclub Kevin Carmichael Cup with this win.
