The Johnsonville Hawks defeated the Old Boys University Goats 27-14 in their sixth round fixture at home at Helston Park on 6 May 2023.

After a tense start, the Johnsonville Hawk’s built a 9-0 lead just before halftime through three penalties to halfback Mark Sutton. An intercept try to centre Aukuso Tuitama followed and they were ahead 16-0 at halftime.

This soon became 19-0 with Sutton’s fourth penalty, before a long-range try proved to be the match-winner. OBU scored two converted tries of their own but another penalty sealed a memorable win for the Broderick Road faithful.
