The Paris Memorial Trophy.
Scoring highlights of the opening round of the Paris Memorial Trophy Wellington club rugby Colts competition in Wellington on Saturday 22 April, between home team Oriental-Rongotai and visitors the Wellington Axemen.
In drizzly but clearing conditions, Ories won the match 45-11, after leading 12-6 at halftime. The margin of victory for the junior Magpies side was comfortable in the end, but the run of play was often much closer than the scoreline suggests.

The Swindale Shield.
The Oriental-Rongotai Magpies defeated Petone 30-29 with a last play scoring play in their fourth round Swindale Shield match, for the Jim Brown Memorial Trophy. Petone led 19-7 at halftime in overcast conditions at the Polo Ground, but Ories came back in the second spell and scored their winning try on fulltime.
