
Ma’a Nonu’s playing career is still alive and well.
The 42-year old Oriental-Rongotai midfielder, once dubbed the Miramar Miracle, will soon be winging is way to the south of France to hook up with leading Top 14 side Toulon as a medical joker.
Toulon, who Nonu has played with twice before, is still in top shape despite being in his fifth decade of living and at an age where most of his contemporaries have long hung up their boots.
Nonu has been playing rugby in America for Major League Rugby side San Diego Legion but is flying in amid injury troubles. He became a club legend in his first stint between 2015 and 1019, before returning for a second short spell in 2020.
He is available for the weekend Top 14 match against Lyon and will become the oldest player ever to take the field in France’s top competition when he does play.
Toulon are currently second in the Top 14 table, just three points off defending European and French champions Toulouse.
