Rugby coming up throughout August, September and October

The Wellington Maori – Wellington Samoans clash is always a feature on the representative calendar. They meet this year at Ngati Toa Domain on 19 August. 

Club rugby in 2023 is winding up through the Lower North Island, but there is plenty of rugby still on the table over the next two to three months.

There is the remainder of local college rugby competitions, heading into the Hurricanes finals and the National Top 4 in Winter Tournament Week.

A feature tournament that we cover on Club Rugby is the Hurricanes Central Region Shield U19 competition, along with representative programmes in the wider Hurricanes territory involving a number of teams at the U16s, U18s Boys and Girls and Development level.

The Wellington Centurions, Wellington Samoans and Māori teams all have their own schedules, along with their counterparts elsewhere such as the Hawke’s Bay Saracens and the Manawatu Evergreens.

A schedule of what is coming up is below, ordered by date. Kick-off times given if known.

This schedule predominantly focuses on:

• Wellington representative teams
• Hurricanes region post-competition college fixtures
• Lower North Island Heartland teams – Horowhenua-Kapiti, Wairarapa Bush, Whanganui
• Wellington and Manawatu NPC and Women’s NPC teams
