The inaugural online tipping competition is for the Wellington men’s Premier competition – the Swindale Shield and Jubilee Cup and Hardham Cup competitions.

For this, we are the facilitators but it is being hosted through a third-party website.

As a third-party website we can’t see your email address or your details; as the competition administrator, if you wish to remain anonymous then our guess as to who you are as good as anyone else’s. Except to bear in mind that should you win, and you are running a username that is not your real name then you will need to come forth to us at least and identify yourself!

Prizes.

Our good friends at Dynasty Sport have come on board with a prize pack for the winner at the end of the season, and we are in talks with others for further prizes and likely spot prizes throughout the season. The more of us playing the more lucrative and frequent these prizes will be.

The Bellevue Gardens Hotel, adjacent to the Hutt Recreation Ground, but serving customers from all four corners of the rugby region, is providing bar vouchers to weekly/round winners and more.

Competition details

This is a round-by-round competition, starting for week one on Saturday 5 April.

We have customised it with the following:

• Correct tip = 2 Points for each correct tip
•  Perfect round = 10 Bonus points for a perfect round
•  Tipped draw = 5 Points for correctly tipping a draw
•  Margin spread options 1-12, 13-24 and 25+
•  Correct margin spread = 2 Points for correctly tipping the margin spread
• Default tip = Away team. A user will be given the away team by default when they do not enter a tip.
• Match lockdown = Lockdown buffer 15 minutes before the match starts that tips will be locked. So your tips must be made by 2.30pm on Saturday afternoons most weeks (2.00pm if they have an earlier 2.15pm round).
• Wildcards = 2 Number of wildcards allowed. Users can choose to use a wildcard to double their score for a round on two separate occasions.
• Defaults. If a team defaults, then a win with the 25+ margin spread will be added to the defaulted to/winning team.
• Match abandonment. If a match fails to go ahead then that game will be recorded as drawn. If a match is rescheduled, then that fixture is still live until it is played at a later date.

Maximise your chances or play the steelman on your rivals by operating more than one username. But it is set up for one username and tipper per email address, i.e. play at home with your personal email address and run a second username at work.
