Porirua Park and Petone Rec Swindale Shield scoring highlights

Old Boys University swam to a 37-23 win over Northern United in their eighth round Swindale Shield match, on 20 May 2023 at Porirua Park.

Steady rain started falling as the game kicked off and only increased as the contest developed.

Norths went 10-0 up, but OBU came back to lead 20-13 at halftime. Norths scored early in the second half to lock it up at 20-20, but OBU pulled clear towards the end.

*The last several minutes of the game approximately was not captured owing to the camera battery dying, and a combination of heavy rain, wet hands and water generally cascading everywhere, which dictated that the retrieval and insertion of the spare battery was going to be a risky manoeuvre at that point.
